The original printing company was formed by two brothers in the west-end of London in 1953. Four years later it was decided to move the company out of London and a search for larger premises was started. An ex-horsehair processing factory was found in the Suffolk town of Lavenham and the printing machinery moved in.
The company name changed to Lavenham Press and the customer base expanded, as did the numbers of staff and range of printing equipment.
Today Lavenham Press is still a family run company. The modernised factory retains much of its original charm and, externally, the buildings fit into the Lavenham architectural style that is internationally famous. In contrast the interior houses modern origination, pre-press, printing and finishing machinery that matches the latest industry standards of efficiency and environmental care.
