Lavenham is one of England's finest medieval towns with over 300 listed buildings. Visitors
are immediately struck by the charm of the town with its many timber framed buildings with their
seemingly infinite varieties of shape and style. The 16th century guildhall, situated in the market
square, is owned by the national trust and is now a museum of local history. The church of St. Peter
and St. Paul is magnificently set on high ground at the edge of the town and has many carvings
in stone and timber. It has the tallest tower in Suffolk. A stroll around the town is a
recommended part of any visit to Lavenham press.
